Photobucket  Just before my blogging hiatus I was sent a loaf of Formulated 28 100% Whole Wheat, High Protein Bread to review here on the ol' bloggy. I had heard about it on another blog many months ago and it sounded quite appealing. So, when they sent me a loaf to try I was super-duper excited. I mean, what fitness enthusiast (or anyone wanting/currently eatting healthy) wouldn't want to try it? It's full of whole grain, low in carbs and high in protein. I don't know about you but that's right up my alley.

Photobucket

Just to give you a bit more reasons as to why anyone would want to try this, let me break down the nutrition stats for you....

One piece of P28 is only 130 calories, 3.5g of total fat, 12g of Carbs and 14g of protein.
Photobucket

What I love even more about this bread is that it freezes great!!!! If you notice on my picture it says best if used by May 2. Well, I had gotten it about a month before that date (yeah, it's been that long since I wrote my review...shame on me..bad blogger, bad. LOL! But better late than never, right?) and knew I wouldn't be able to test it out right away (I had a zillion other products pouring into my mailbox daily that were just piling up) so I put it in the freezer. I pulled it out two weeks ago and WOW! Still fresh! That, in itself, sold me. I mean, you know how some breads don't freeze and thaw out well, right? Not this bread. It came out still so fresh and moist.

I've been eating my P28 this way for the last week.....1 slice P28 bread, 2 egg whites, 1 full egg and 2T of shredded cheese. It is the perfect combination of protein, carbs and fat.  On Friday, I tried two slices of the P28 bread with some Natural Peanut Buter and a half a banana sliced for a protein packed, yummy peanut butter banana breakfast sandwich.  Here's what the banana sandwich looked like...yummy!

Photobucket

Overall, the Formulated 28 100% Whole Wheat, High Protein Bread is quite a high quality product. In my humble opinion it is also one item that everyone should forever have as a staple in our pantry.  Granted, the overall cost is $4.99 for a loaf of bread. It is a little bit on the pricey side but coming from a frugal gal such as myself, it's really worth every penny. Customers can purchase these by the case, receiving four loafs in a case - which isn't bad.  As I said, they freeze REALLY well!

Disclosure: I was provided a product or sample for the review. As always, all opinions are mine.

Photobucket If you are a regular reader of my blog then you know that yesterday I mentioned a handy-dandy little product that I have recently fell in love with! If you are not a regular reader, well, wait until you hear about this awesome item.

I'm referring to the GYMBOSS! It's an inveral timer and is used mostly in the fitness world. However, I found out last night that it could workout quite well for DD's time outs or time crunched tasks (Can we say Fly Lady?)

Photobucket

I love, love, love this product. I do not know where this has been all my fitness loving life. How I managed to train without it is beyond me. Intervals are now much more fun using my GYMBOSS.

I had used it the other night on a fitness program I doing as it had intervals mixed in and thought what a great time to test it out. I was blown away! When I thought more about it as I wrote my post yesterday I realized it had so much more potential!

When DD was being bad I put her in timeout. Instead of setting the timer on the ol' microwave I whipped out my GYMBOSS! Setting it up is easy-peasy so within just a few seconds it was set and DD's timeout was good-to-go. (Tho I must admit because it was pink and tiny she thought it was a toy and her's and she had to have it..I DONT THINK SO. ha)

While she was in time out, I realized "Oh, this could workout well for the Fly Ladies out there." So, for giggles (because I do not really follow the Fly Lady) I gave it a go. I set the timer and went to work. Wow! It works for that too!

Here is just some of the reasons why you would want a GYMBOSS:

  1. Price: at only $19.95, the Gymboss is much more affordable compared to other watches/timers that can cost well over $100.
  2. Size: Gymboss is the size of a pager, so it can go wherever you go. Traveling on business? Just too lazy to lug all of your little gadgets to the fitness club? No problem!
  3. Features: Are you interval training or using a stopwatch for sprints? The Gymboss has you covered as it provides for both functions.
  4. Accuracy: Don't you just hate constantly looking at the clock or watch to now when you need to resume or move onto your next exercse? Gymboss allows you to precisely time your work-to-rest time ratios, allowing you to concentrate on your muscle group instead of the clock.
  5. Simplicity: Gymboss offers a simple, easy to use 3-button setup that allows you to quickly change interval times for different workouts.
  6. Alarms: The timer also has a vibration function that allows you to know when to start and stop - even when using headphones or your iPod. Gymboss also has a long ,as well as short, beeper alert for when you’re in a noisy gym.
As you can see, with all the fun options of this GYMBOSS it really is a great product. I mean, why wouldn't you want one? GYMBOSS has volunteered to sponsor a giveaway here at Frugal, Fit and Fabulous! They have given me one pink GYMBOSS to give to one lucky winner.

Photobucket It's not something new to know that I do not wash my hair every day. I'm an every other day washer...as most of you are I am sure. It's just healthier for your hair. I also have very thin, very fine hair so just one day without washing and well, I look like a grease monkey. Then, I decided to add side sweep bangs into the mix and well, that's just a recipe for disaster. Enter dry shampoo.

I've had no luck with any of the ones I have tried thus far. Granted, it was only two kinds but i'm frugal and I hate spending money only to find it not work, trash it and there goes X amount of cash. Drives me nuts! So when my darling, sweet sister-in-law told me that Suave just recently came out with a Dry Shampoo. I just about fell out of my chair. Um, SUAVE HAS A DRY SHAMPOO? You have no idea how happy this makes me since you all know I am a huge, long-time Suave fan and well, you just cannot beat Suave's prices, right? What was even better was that she informed me that our local Walmart had some on the shelf. You can only guess where I went to immediately!!!

First, let me just say that it smells AMAZING!!!! It smells like Bath & Body Works Grapefruit body mist but with a powdery dry-down.

Photobucket
Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo
(Retail: under $3, 5 oz)
Notice on the can it says: "To refresh as well as Rene Furterer".

I love that the Suave Dry Shampoo, with it's mineral clays, actually absorbs all the excess oil at my roots. However, what was so unexpected and a total turn on for me - that won me over at ten fold (because I have fine, thin hair) is the extra boost in volume that it provided.  WOW!!!!! No, seriously, WOW!!!!!!! This product is amazing!!!!

And for my fitness enthusiasts, I also must say that this little, handy-dandy product packs a PUNCH to my hair regime after a sweaty workout! No more having to go to work with crazy sweaty hair. No more having to shampoo, condition and blow-dry after your workout. The Suave Dry Shampoo refreshed my hair after a hardcore Cathe or spinning workout as if I never worked out. In my opion, it's a must-have in your gym bag!!

This is just one of those product finds that you want to scream on top of a mountain top, tweet all over twitter, share at your girls night out, your mommy groups, church, co-workers...basically anyone that will listen! And with a price of under $3.00 and also able to find at any local Walmart, well, why wouldn't you?  Suave once again came through with yet another AMAZING product!!!!! You know, I really should look into taking stock with these guys. My bathroom is starting to be over ran with Suave products. LOL!!

Now, GO. HURRY! Grab a bottle and test it out. I want to hear how you LOVE this amazing new product!!!  You will NOT be disappointed!!!

PhotobucketI don't know about you but I sure love a good cup coffee - especially in the morning when I arise to start my day. If I do not have that first cup in the morning my day just doesn't get started. Yes, I am one of those people. I just cannot "get with it" without that first cup of joe. My husband, on the other hand, is not a coffee drinker at all. I don't know how he does it.

For years, I've always been a Dunken Donuts gal. Come on, we all know "America Runs on Dunken." haha!(That commercial cracks me up!) But i'm going to be real with ya'll....Dunken Donuts coffee isn't exactly cheap. Whether you go to the store daily to get your fresh brewed, tweaked to your perfection cup or get a bag at your local grocery market and brew it from home it still costs a good chunk of change. Around here, you are paying $7.00 for a 13oz bag if it's on sale. I'm all for paying a few dollars more and getting triple that in coffee. I love me my Dunken but it was time to find an alternative that tasted just as good.  That's when I found it....

Photobucket

Eight O'Clock Coffee 100% Columbian is now my go-to coffee!!! Sure, I tried the French Roast flavor but it just was not rich for me and rather weak. I needed something stronger. Something richer. That's when I decided to try the 100% Columbian. Ohhhhhh so rich!!! Ohhhhh so strong!!! And for $4.63 for a 13oz bag you can't beat it - especially when you tack on a $0.45/coupon!!! Hello savings!!!

Eight O'Clock Coffee 100% Columbian is rich, strong and robust!! It's also only $0.31/cup!!! It's cheap! It's flavorful!! And when reading up on it after I found my TREASURE FIND, I found this article by consumer search where they have nothing but much praise and comparison to stores like Starbucks and how it beats them out!! They couldn't be more right friends!

I will now only have my Dunken Donuts on Friday mornings as my Kick Off The Weekend Treat but other than that I'm Eight O'Clock Coffee all the way now.  If you have not tried Eight O'Clock Coffee yet, please give it a try. You will not be disappointed (and your checkbook will be happy too!)

Photobucket A few months ago I was in a pinch. I was out of my beloved Bath & Body Works shower gel supply! (Oh Me, Oh My! What is a girl to do?!) With no time to head to the local mall, shop online or extra leadway in the budget for these items that month I had to think of other alternatives. That is when I headed to the local Wal-Mart.  Having not browsed online prior to my trip for what other bloggers recommended, I was scouring the aisles uneducated and sort of in a bind.  It was a formula destined to end up in utter failure. Well, my friends, I am here to tell you that that was not the case.  Instead, I came out with a product that I was sure would disappoint (the old formulas were terrible but hey! they said they revamped it so why not try it?) only to end up LOVING!!!!!  This, my friends, is my now beloved Suave Naturals Body Wash.

Photobucket

Years and years ago, I once used the Suave brand. Then something changed and it was just awful. It left my skin dry and asking for more. Needless to say, that's when I moved on over and became a loyal customer of Bath and Body Works. Besides, who doesn't like their fresh scents and their benefits to your skin?! Suave must have finally caught on because they revamped their formula, redid their whole marketing, packaging and all that comes with it and now offers one of the best products on the market. Actually, a recent customer test panel actually preferred the scents of Suave Naturals to that of the scents of Bath and Body Works! What is even better is that Suave Naturals has suggested retail pricing of $1.24 - $2.50.  I highly suggest you get your Suave on beauties because with such a variety of scents there is sure to be at least one to appease you:

•wild cherry blossom
•lavender vanilla
•ocean breeze
•sweet pea and violet
•cucumber melon
•apricot exfoliating
•cocoa butter
•tropical coconut
•fresh berry smoothie
•and most recently, mango mandarin

Currently, I have Wild Cherry Blossom in my shower and it's definately one of my top three! As long as Suave Naturals continues to make these products I will continue to buy them instead of that ever-so-pricey Bath and Body Works brand. I mean, really? Who needs to go out and buy that stuff, spending an arm and a leg, when you can go to your local Wal-Mart, CVS, Rite-Aid, Walgreens, Target, etc. and get the same quality, same scents (if not better!) for just a fraction of the cost?!

What are you waiting for?????? Go grab yourself some Suave Naturals today! You will not be disappointed!

Photobucket If it's one thing I love it's a nice healthy glow. There is just something about a tan on a woman that leaves her looking healthy, feeling confident and well, all around Summer Goddess. I don't know about all of you but I also feel that when I have some color to me that a tan also helps me to look a bit slimmer. Oh the lights and the dillusions how they can help us, so. LOL!

What I do not like about a tan is what you have to do to your skin to get it.  Hours upon hours of sun damage by Praying to the Sun Gods. Exposing you skin to all those UVA and UVB rays. Indoors, Outdoors it doesn't matter how. It just matters that you are damaging your skin. Most importantly, you're opening up yourself to the possibility of skin cancer.  Now, I am not one to preach I've had my share of sun worshiping. Truth be told, I was a pretty obsessive tanner back in my day. That was until about two to three years ago (Yes, right before Little Bear was born) that I had a small scare and ever since...well, it's just opened my eyes (and also gave me a few wrinkles around them. Yuck!)

I'll admit, I was heart-broken and crushed. I was soon going to be the color of skin I have not seen in 20 years!!! Not to mention the Vitamin D always gave me such awesome energy. That's when I started the daunting task of finding the right self-tanner. If you're reading this i'm pretty sure you've been there and are sitting there shaking your head - maybe even laughing. You know the drill....read labels, check reviews, purchase it only to come home and find yourself orange eight hours later. Yikes! Just walk around Umpa Lumpa Style why don't ya. Then of course there is the application...Oy...streaks, streaks and more streaks. Just what we need on top of our already orange skin. Now we're white and orange striped! Yikes!!!

When I was just about to give up I found it. The holy grail of self tanners. The one that would hold a place in my heart forever - Famous Dave's Tanner. This little gem will put a small dent in your wallet at about $22.00 a bottle (I know, I know!) but I can assure you it is worth every penny! Famous Dave's Tanner really is the best on the market. It has even been featured in various magazines such as Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan.

Photobucket
Famous Dave's Tanner bathes your skin in the rich emollients of Aloe Vera, Sesame, and Jojoba, which soften and add healthy moisture.  It is also fragrance-free. Drying time is fast - within five minutes of application - a huge plus for me.  It is also very buildable. When I first tried this I already had pale, fair skin. To be pretty blunt, I matched my white gym socks! (Gross, I know! So depressing!)  The first application will leave with a nice, soft, glow - like you spent the day strolling around Central Park.  Apply another layer and you have a deeper, darker tan. Apply as many layers as you like. It's totally buildable. Unlike other sunless tanners, this is also not stainable so fear not, your clothes will be safe. the lotion is also very moisturizing. It is slightly a bit of a body butter consistency but that's okay because it helps to ensure you really get it in.

For me, the color usually lasts about seven days. It's unlike other sunless tanners where when you shower it starts coming off and you start looking like a leopard.  Not this. Honestly, I usually don't even notice it's worn off until after the fact and realize I'm Casper again. Thus why now I just add it as a part of my weekly pampering routine.

I have never purchased the same self-tanner more than once until this product.  I'm already on my sixth bottle!  If you've been looking for a self-tanner that you will LOVE and want to shout from the roof-tops or a High Priority email to your girlfriends...this IS IT!

Photobucket My cuticles are horrible - no scratch that - dreadful in the Winter. I have tried oils. I have tried lotions. Nothing prevented the soft and peeling nails and the craziness of hangnails that I was getting. Every time I got a manicure the nail tech would look at them in disgust. I was ashamed! I will admit it my cuticles can take a serious beating in the Winter. Then I found it. The holygrail of cuticle creams - Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream.
Photobucket
Made with sweet almond oil, beeswax and aVitamin E, it isn’t really a “cream,” but more “waxy” in texture. Massage it daily into the cuticle and nail bed and you will see it not only prevents hangnails and softens cuticles, it also strengthens and nourishes nails in the process. It even will help your manicure last a few extra days. How's that for extra benefits?

I swear, if this was edible I would eat it. It smells unbelievably devine. Like some mouth-watering lemon dessert. We all know how much I love lemon desserts - especially lemon cheesecakes.

This is a product that will feel a little greasy when you first apply it (making it ideal for nighttime application), but after a few minutes it completely absorbs into your skin. The key is to apply it regularly. I have noticed that if I stop applying it for a few days my cuticles will take a turn for the worse which always makes me sad and frustrated so be sure to use it regularly to receive optimum results.

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream runs about $6.00 for 0.6 ounces. That might not sound like a lot of product for the money but one tin will most likely last you through the Winter - possibly longer. The tin that I currently have has actually lasted me three Winter's and I just now finally put a dent in it. (A little of this product goes a longgg way)

Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream can be found at your local CVS, Walmart, Target and Bath & Body Works stores. Of course they might be able to be located elsewhere but those are the stores within my area that I have seen it at.

Photobucket Last week I stumbled upon one glorious gem. It's the perfect addition to a healthy living all the while giving us that sweet decadent feels like i'm cheating feeling. What is it that I am speaking so highly of you might be wondering? Well, it's Jell-o's Mousse Temptations.

Not only is it filled with mouth watering chocolate-ness flavor but it's also sugar-free and only 60 calories per cup. Now tell me that does not sound appealing.

This chocolate packed cup feels so rich and just bubbles in my mouth like a mousse would. I even let Little Bear have a cup for herself and it was so delicious she had to share it with the rest of her face (Bummer I don't have a picture of that). I was able to find these at my local Wal-Mart (with a coupon from my Sunday insert). They are around $2.00 but if you have a decent coupon around $1.00. I will tell you what - they are worth every penny. SO GOOD!

Next time you're out grocery shopping do your mouth and your soul a favor..grab a pack of these. They will not disappoint.

Photobucket If it's one thing that is familiar in the Winter month's it's dry chapped skin and more importantly lips. Ugh. Let's get a raise of hands on who just dislikes the chapped lips? Yeah, I thought so.

About seven years ago or so (Wow! Has it really been that long?!) I came across a product at the local Rite-Aid and figured "heck, what do i have to loose?" and brought it home with me. Little did I know that it would soon become my new best friend and forever friend.

The product I am talking about ladies - the product that I love and hold dear to my heart is Neutrogena Overnight Lip Treatment. It says it is clinically proven to heal dry, chapped lips. Folks, that's exactly what it does. I only tend to use this in the Winter months. When I do, I put it on every evening right before I get into bed to prevent dry, chapped lips. This product says it is known to deep condition and replenish moisture overnight? A very strong accusation, yes? Would leave one skeptical, no? Well folks, I'm here to tell you that it's true! I use it every night (mainly only in the Winter) and it manages to keep my lips nice and smooth and subtle and soft! It's fabulous! For those of you that think "well what if my lips are already chapped?" Well, here's something for you....If I sense the littlest bit of chapness (from either extreme weather conditions or sheer lack of laziness of applying before bed) I just apply that night and the next morning GONE! Yes, gone! It's fabulous? I said that already, yes? For Cereal...it works that fast!

Photobucket

It's rich, creamy formula nourishes lips with naturally-derived emollients, skin conditioners and Vitamin E. I won't lie. This product isn't exactly organic for one self but some things I'm okay with not going ala natural - especially if the product works as well as this does.

This little 0.18oz product is starting to become a bit hard to come by nowadays. I have been able to spot them at Rite-Aid and occasionally CVS. I have not, however, seen them at a Target or Walmart. Le Sigh.. I am hoping that this will change. Should this product ever be discontinued I will cry my little heart out. My lips will forever be chapped because ladies, I haven't found anything yet that works as good as this!

Oh Magic Bullet how I love thee.

I was given my beloved four years ago at my bridal shower. It was the best gift my Mother ever gave me - except I did not realize it until the last few weeks. (Shocking, I know.) For months, okay years, I've read bloggers and fitness enthusiasts rave about this product. It could do anything and everything a blender or food processor can do. Heck, they even dared to say the Magic Bullet replaced said appliances. I'd never thought i'd be "one of those people."

I once read a rule that I think I will soon administer in my home. It said this "The only kitchen appliances allowed on your counter top are the ones you use more than once a week." This would be a good rule for my house. I cannot tell you how many appliances sit that are not used. AnyWho, this little machine of goodness would be the only one on my counter now except for the microwave (hopefully some day going over our stovetop), my coffee maker and my kitchen aid mixer (bc let's face it, it may not be used weekly but it's a BEAUTIFUL machine and should not be put in the deep, dark corner of some cabinet). I have no doubt that if you buy the Magic Bullet, your kitchen counter top will have a new accessory.

The Magic Bullet is the greatest blender EVER! I use it every day and in some cases two times a day.
You can mix up your favorite shake in the same container you drink from - which makes clean up and portability a breeze! Not only does this little gem make a mean protein shake it’s also great for making iced coffee, guacamole, salsa, pancake batter, tuna salad, protein muffin/cookie/loaf mix, blended cocktails and much, much more! It even grinds up my oats for oat flour! The possibilities are endless. Have a baby in the house and want to make your own baby food? Enter the Magic Bullet.

Even tho this little magical appliance of mine was given to me as a gift, you can easily score one yourself at your local Walmart, Target, Kmart, Costco's, CVS, Walgreens, etc or even online. Be sure to check side aisles too because last year I saw some clearanced at .. *gasp* $20.00 over at CVS just this past holiday! Folks, that's a deal. This bad boy usually goes for about $50.00.

PhotobucketAs most of you are aware, I currently have one child - Little Bear at age 14 months. She is obviously still in diapers. I always knew that you would go through a ton of diapers. I did not, however, realize the amount of baby wipes we would be using. Needless to say, I ended up with quite the collection of baby wipes containers. At first, I would just toss them into the recycling bin. One day, I had come across Mount Plastic (ie the huge pile/collection of plastic grocery bags from when DH went shopping and refused to use my canvas bags). There had to be a better way to store these. After some research, I came across a Mommy blog who suggested baby wipes containers for storage. Brilliant!!! This one little idea opened up a whole world of uses for these fabulous, sturdy containers. Every since then I have yet to throw another one away. "Honey, don't throw that out. We can use that to store Little Bear's hair clips in." At first, I would receive this "are you kidding me" look but after awhile, he warmed up to the idea and I'd like to say he loves them as much as I do now.

Here are just a few ways that you can recycle and reuse your baby wipes containers......

Storing plastic grocery bags - Keep one in the kitchen or keep one in the car. They keep them neat, tidy and in a convenient location for easy access when needed.

Hair clips/bows holder - Let's face it, if you have a little girl you will accummulate A LOT of hair clips and bows. After all, we need one for every outfit. (hee-hee!) These neat little containers keep them all in one place making them easier to find. Far better than finding one on the floor under the crib and the matching one somewhere downstairs by the dog toys.

First Aid Kit - With hubby's career path, we get a lot of injuries (cuts, scrapes and burns) in our house. We were forever looking for this or that when it came to first aid. We needed a first aid kit and we needed one upstairs, one downstairs and one in the basement. Solution ---- baby wipes containers. They were the perfect size to store everything we needed.

Manicure/Pedicure Station - Little Bear recently found my pretty little blue and white basket that I used to store all of my manicure/pedicure supplies. It was the perfect size to store everything I needed and it was super cute. (Got it on clearance at Target) After she was done with it, let's just say it was no longer cute or useable. LOL!!! Solution --- baby wipes container. Let's see that little girl get access to my supplies now. bwahahahaha!

Mini Toy Box - Great solution for some small toys to keep in the car for traveling amusement. It stays in the car at all times and instead of having the toys thrown all over the back seat when you are done you just put them back in the wipes container, close the lid and walah! Instant Organization. Now that's what i'm talking about.

Missing Socks Storage - You cannot tell me you do not have Sir Lone Sock laying around in your laundry room. Well, I found a solution to the temporary home for Sir Lone Sock - baby wipes container. Looking for the Mr or Mrs in your sock marriage? No problem. Go take a look in the baby wipes container.

As you can see, the uses for this wonderful little container are endless. If you have a few empty baby wipes containers laying around your house do not throw them away. Instead, I welcome you - no, I challenge you - to take a look around your house and see what you could do to recycle/reuse that empty baby wipes container.
