 A few months ago I was in a pinch. I was out of my beloved Bath & Body Works shower gel supply! (Oh Me, Oh My! What is a girl to do?!) With no time to head to the local mall, shop online or extra leadway in the budget for these items that month I had to think of other alternatives. That is when I headed to the local Wal-Mart.  Having not browsed online prior to my trip for what other bloggers recommended, I was scouring the aisles uneducated and sort of in a bind.  It was a formula destined to end up in utter failure. Last week I had mentioned that my house was full of sickness – primarily being the little one’s. Well, we had some excitement since that last post thus why I was MIA until yesterday.

I decided to take the plunge and call the pediatrician. We were going on Day Four and no improvement had been made. Lucky for me I am fortunate enough to have a Mother In Law readily available when/if we need her. I called the Dr and managed to get her a 1:30pm appt on Thursday. Mom R. graciously took the little one to her appointment and would call me with the verdict. This way I did not miss any work. Well, I get a call at 2:21 saying the Dr. said they had to take her to the hospital NOW for blood work and a chest x-ray. Needless to say, I left work.

The Dr ordered the chest x-ray because she had this awful cough for the last two weeks. She then ordered the blood work for what I don’t know other than to assume it was for to check for any signs of infection. What I thought was an ear infection wasn’t as her ears were perfectly clear. Weird, she had all the signs. Anyway, long story short…..Chest Xray came out clear…no ammonia or anything like that. Blood work came back fine also.

Friday morning rolls around and I’m brushing her teeth and all is well. She goes to eat her cereal and screams “OUCH!” The hubby and I looked at each other and said “new tooth!” But how could that be?! She didn’t have any of her tell-tale signs that she has always had previously. It did not occur to me that maybe she was/is starting to cut her 2 year molars. She has all her teeth but those two. I forgot that all the signs of an ear infection also can mean tooth cutting - but why did the Dr not even check or mention that?!?!?!?!? After Little Bear’s reaction, I asked her to let me take a peek inside and….Sure Enough….

We have a new tooth!!! Two Year Molar #1 is halfway in. All that worry! All that commotion!! All those bills for testing the day before!! All for a tooth!!!!! I would have never had guessed because, truth be told, all the other teeth never caused her problems. We did not even know she was teething until she had this awful diarrhea and diaper rash. With this particular tooth, she just had a week-long fever and all the signs of an ear infection.

Needless to say, as of today Two Year Molar #1 is doing well. It’s only half in but I’m sure it will take a while for the rest to cut through from what I am reading. I checked out the other side this morning and I see some irritation going on so I bet we’ll be in for the Final and Round 2 for Molar #2 soon. At least this time we know what to look for and won’t need to panick.

A few weeks ago, I arrived home to a lovely box on my front porch.




Peach: Delicious! I really enjoyed the huge chunks of peach. It really made this flavor a great one!

Blueberry and Strawberry: Lots of fruit in both of these, great taste too, but I liked the peach better. It had a more powerful fruit flavor than these two. It seemed, to me, that these two lacked a bit of that even tho the fruit bits were in there.

Strawberry-Banana:  I love me some strawberry-banana anything and this was quite tasty. Again, I would have expected a bit more of a PUNCH in flavor but it was still yummy goodness.

Pineapple: DELISH!!! Yum, Yum Gimme Some Delish!! The chunks of Pineapple in here were just the right size, taste and texture. This flavor was certainly my #2 spot. (Peach came in #3)

Raspberry:  Tasted pretty good but i dunno..it was missing something. Maybe I am/was just spoiled by the Peach?!?

Pomegranate...OH BABY! Where have you been all my life?! For real...wanna make a permanent home in my fridge? Yes folks! This is my #1....THEE BEST FLAVOR Chobani has added to their lineup. It seriously tastes just like the pomegranate minus the whole clean up...plus it's added into the greek yogurt for that extra protein packed punch that we all love and crave with the greek yogurts.  Definately hands-down my #1 favorite flavor!!!!! Chobani did right when they made this flavor! Way to go Chobani!

Honey: Packed full of honey flavor but i'll be real with ya'll..i do not like honey in my yogurt so this one didn't fly with me. yuck! Tho if you are a honey lover, you would enjoy it.

And last but certainly not least......

Vanilla: Omg. This changed my yogurt-eating life! This is seriously my PERFECT yogurt. Thick, creamy, smooth, vanilla-y and just DELICIOUS. Ever since I got these samples (about a month ago) I have been trying to find a local retailer that sells the Chobani but alas, I'm very saddened...no one around here sells them. If they did, I would regularly buy the Vanilla and Pomegrante weekly! They both are THAT good!!!!

Oh but wait...the review doesn't stop there!!!! Chobani was also kind enough to send over the Children's Line called Chobani Champions for Little Bear to try.

Straw-nana:  Little Bear was not as excited with this one as she was the Very Berry but she did like it. It made a perfect addition to her snack line up.

Very Berry: Little Bear immediately went "Mmm" and smacked her lips with this one. She loves berry anything and this was PERFECT for her. She finished the cup in lightening speed and even asked for more! When I tried it I then knew why she liked it. It was just the right berry-fection.

Chocolate:  Little Bear was not fond of this one at all!! She had one small taste and went "EW". Really, you should have seen the look on her face. I tried to take a pic but she wouldn't let me.  I obviously had to take a taste for myself..EW is right!!! Sorry Chobani but you need to work on this one. It tasted so gritty and not chocolatey at all. Two thumbs DOWN on this one.

HoneyNana: Little Bear must be like me because she said "Ew" and made the face with this one too. It just wasn't her cup of tea - nor mine. I tried but again, we know how i feel about honey in my yogurt. no dice.

There you have it folks....it looks like Chobani is certainly a greek yogurt winner for this family. It's just too bad I cannot find it anywhere around here. I've since went back to my Oiko's yogurt and let me tell you, there is no comparison between the two once you try Chobani.  I'm very sad I cannot get my hands on these. They are AWESOME and pack more protein in their cup than Oiko's.  If you can grab your hands on some Chobani, I suggest you do...Oh wait, you can!!! Here's how......

I just do not know what to do....this poor Little Bear of mine has been battling with an Off and On fever for the last four days. Day one adding vomit to the mix but not since.  It's like clock work, every 3.5 hours her fever goes back up, breaks and then back up again. The funny thing is otherwise she's perfectly fine and healthy. I really rather her not go in and see the Dr only for them to tell me to do the same thing i've been doing.  The reality is tho that i'm giving this until tonight, if by then it's still like this i'm calling them tomorrow morning. This is crazy. I'm so tired of her being ill. She was sick two weeks ago for crying out loud. I mean, that was a full blown virus/infection and she was treated but come on! two weeks later this?!?  I just feel so bad for her. She also has Big Plans on Saturday to partake in this really big Community Easter Egg Hunt. She would have a ball but obviously she isnt going to be able to go if she's sick. Le Sigh....

On top of that, it appears that Poppa Bear and I have the same head cold we had two weeks ago also. We figure it's probably the same one just takes longer to heal and go away.  I don't care what it is or how long it lingers, it just needs to go. We've been through six boxes of puffs w/lotion tissues...six! Then again, tis the Season for allergies and all too so I guess we'd get hit with that if it wasn't this. LOL!!!!!!  Really, I'm not complaining about all of this...just super frustrated.  I really want my family well.....and on the selfish side just one good nights sleep. This Momma Bear hasn't really slept in four days! oh yes, i'm starting to resemble the no sleep days of newbornville and me no likey! Calgon take me away.....just for eight hours, please.

Wow! I could not have asked for a better First Weekend of Spring! 

We had weather that was sunny and temps in the mid-70's. How glorious is that?! This called for a lot of time spent outdoors.

Friday night kicked off the weekend with taking Little Bear to the park after work.  We stayed until the sun went down and she couldn't have been more thrilled. She even made quite a few friends - the park was packed!!! We even let the Little Bear stay up and fall asleep on the couch with us. She didn't end up falling asleep until 10.

Saturday was just awesome!! Poppa Bear gave our cars oil changes and put on new front brakes for mine. While he did that, Little Bear and I played outback in the sunshine cleaning up the backyard, playing in the sandbox, swinging on the swing. We made a trip to Walmart for some grocery shopping and then later went back to the park for more fun in the sun. Little Bear also has this thing right now for running "run, mommy"...so we had to run around the block twice. The girl has some crazy energy right now, let me tell ya. We also brought out the corvette we bought her last year (that I told Poppa Bear she was too young and too small for). We wanted to see how much she had grown and if she would be able to drive it this year. Well, she was!!! We, of course, tried it out in our backyard. After realizing she was good to go we drove down the street. Afterwards, we packed it up in Poppa Bear's truck and took it over to Grandmom's house where she has a huggggggge backyard that Little Bear can drive in and get more fun out of. The girl drove her little heart out that day.  After the day was over, I spent a good amount of the evening hours on our lovely front porch. I just love our front porch. It is so cozy and with the weather the way it was, I just couldn't go back into the house and not enjoy it, ya know?

Sunday as pretty much lazy day. I had already gotten all the laundry done on Saturday so there really wasn't any of that to be had - good thing too because Poppa Bear and I woke up very tired and lazy like. You ever have one of those days?  Little Bear, on the other hand, woke up with tons of energy ready to "go outside."  Needless to say, She and I went to another park to roam and play for a few hours.  She just had a ton of fun and wore out some of that energy of her's. 

The house didn't get clean this weekend like I would have liked (I need to start on the Spring Cleaning) but my daughter had a grande ol' time this weekend enjoying the very first warm weather weekend after Winter. We could not not go out and enjoy it. All and all, a fabulous weekend leaving this Momma Bear T I R E D!

Today' is not just a special annual celebration in our happy household...Today also marks the 7th Anniversary of Poppa Bear and I's engagement. That's right folks! Poppa Bear proposed to me on St. Patrick's Day. Guess it only made sense - I am quite a bit Irish. lol

Now that i'm really getting down to business with this whole running thing - you know, a 5K on the pavement and all - not just the treadmill running - I thought it' be time to get myself fitted for the correct pair of running shoes for me.

Both Little Bear and I were feeling on the better side Wednesday night so we decided to stop by the South Jersey Running Company to get the deed done. That's where we met TJ - our handy, dandy sales associate. He was going to help us find out exactly what was up with my feet and dress it like the queen.

After about 20 minutes, TJ informed me that my right foot was just peachy keen...perfectly normal in every way--gait and arch. My left foot, however, was less to be desired. Apparently, my left likes to be different --- it was a 1/2 inch longer than my right...it also has a lower than normal arch and is quite the over-pronator. The complete opposite of my right. Crazy, right?  His suggestion was a sneaker with a lot of stability (for that left foot) and cushioning for my bad back and old softball knee injury. I'm not really sure on the particulars and exact terminologies but I might call today for a follow up call and find out so I know for future reference. I was too excited to soak all that he was saying into my noggan. That's when he brought out three lovely shoes for me to try.  They were the Asics GT-2150, Saucony ProGrid Triumph 6 and the Adidas Supernova. 

I tried on the Asic's first...Ahhhh comfort!! Just the right snug fit around my arch and a nice roomy box toe. Of course the cushioning was fab too!! Then I tried on the Saucony's....they weren't too bad either but the support in the arch wasn't as nice and snug as the Asic's.  Then the Adidas...well, I just didn't like those one bit.  It was certainly a toss between the Asic's and Saucony's. I tried the Asic's on the left and the Saucony's on the right for one last fit....In the end I went with the Asic's.  I really wanted to try on some Mizuno's or Brooke's but he didn't bring any out (and I know they carried them). I do not know if that's because they did not have any in my size (6.5 - a half size larger than I normally wear bc of the whole left foot thing, ya know) or they did not have any for my feet requirements. *shrug*



While I was there I also tried out my first pair of Running Socks. TJ had me try the Balga one's. Oh my gosh! Talk about heaven on feet! I now see why they say no to cotton socks and yes to these babies!!! *Swoon* Of course for $10/pair they better be nice and do their job.  In the end, I bought these too. A girl's gotta do it right, right? I'll just have to do some searching on getting these babies for cheaper.

Before getting fitted, I have been wearing the Saucony's ProGrid Hurrican  8's. According to last night's research I was on the right path as to wearing the right shoe. They've been working great for me on the treadmill but didn't cause any knee or leg pain until recently while I took the the pavement for our lunch time walks around the park.  TJ says it is probably starting to wear down. I'm just glad that now I know what kind of foot and stride I have so I now know what kind of future shoes to purchase.  Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain for the next four days! Urgh!!! I really am super excited to get these babies on the pavement and try them out.  I've got a 15 day return policy on these so if they aren't right for me I can exchange them for another one. I don't think that will be the case tho. These babies seem to be really nice and suit my feet just fine (and according to last night's research also the Running Worlds Runners Best Choice! who'd have thought?!)

The next saga in The Twilight series is coming to a theater near you on June 30th....Eclipse!!!

The movie trailer for Eclipse came out yesterday (and I cannot believe I just found out about it now) and I am just so stinking excited!!

I was not so excited to see the second movie in the series, New Moon, and truth be told I'm actually waiting for that one to be released this week before I see it. From what I had heard and read it was a bit of a disappointment so I was saving that one for the dvd player. This one, however, this one...Oh My! I will not be able to wait! I will have to go to the theaters to see this one!!

Fans will get their first look in Eclipse at Bryce Dallas Howard as Rachel and will find out who Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella, will choose for her mate. 

...the wealth of germs that is!


Look at those cheeks! and that nose! This was taken Saturday morning when her lovely virus was peeked at it's prime. It started Monday last week and progressively gotten worse to where Friday she was projecting flem out of her nose and mouth at the same time along with not eatting or drinking anything. We had a Dr's appointment on Saturday and the report came back....Respitory Virus plus Stomach Virus plus Double Ear Infection. I did not get a double wammy but a triple wammy! How sad! Antibiotics were prescribed and we were off to the road of recovery.

By the end of the weekend Momma Bear and Poppa Bear both came down with the respitory virus that she so lovingly shared with us.  Of course she also was kind to share it with Grandmom, PopPop, Aunt Lisa and Great Aunt Debbie. Nice, right?

All week Little Bear has been progressively getting better and we've all been sick as dogs.  Needless to say, I haven't even attempted housework or my 5K training program.  Stinks! I also receive quite a few products to taste and review for the blog here. I would attempt to try them now but I haven't been able to taste anything since Saturday. Talk about heartbreaking. I've been eatting these yummy, tasty oranges but can't even taste them. What a waste!!! Especially since I know how yummy and juicy and delicious they were last week. Le Sigh.....

As of today, Little Bear is 85% back to her normal self (yayaya!)...I'm getting on the mend but can only taste here and there but more than yesterday so that's a good sign(hopefully i'll be able to get some of these new products tested out for ya'll next week)....lots of boggy build up in the sinuses ya know.  Poppa Bear, well, he's still in Missouri on his off-site assignment - looking to come home tonight. Poor fella has been on the road sick (talk about stink!)..he sounded some what on the mend last night.

Cannot wait for this to be behind us. This was the worst week to get sick. Poppa Bearing being away and on to top it off temperatures of anywhere between 60 and 66 and SPRING weather. Who wants to be cooped up in the house SICK when it's SPRING outside?! Not me! Certainly not Little Bear. The girl's got an itch to be OUTSIDE like it's nobody's business!

 If it's one thing I love it's a nice healthy glow. There is just something about a tan on a woman that leaves her looking healthy, feeling confident and well, all around Summer Goddess. I don't know about all of you but I also feel that when I have some color to me that a tan also helps me to look a bit slimmer. Oh the lights and the dillusions how they can help us, so. LOL!

What I do not like about a tan is what you have to do to your skin to get it.  Hours upon hours of sun damage by Praying to the Sun Gods. Exposing you skin to all those UVA and UVB rays. Indoors, Outdoors it doesn't matter how. It just matters that you are damaging your skin. Most importantly, you're opening up yourself to the possibility of skin cancer.  Now, I am not one to preach I've had my share of sun worshiping. Truth be told, I was a pretty obsessive tanner back in my day. That was until about two to three years ago (Yes, right before Little Bear was born) that I had a small scare and ever since...well, it's just opened my eyes (and also gave me a few wrinkles around them. Yuck!)

I'll admit, I was heart-broken and crushed. I was soon going to be the color of skin I have not seen in 20 years!!! Not to mention the Vitamin D always gave me such awesome energy. That's when I started the daunting task of finding the right self-tanner. If you're reading this i'm pretty sure you've been there and are sitting there shaking your head - maybe even laughing. You know the drill....read labels, check reviews, purchase it only to come home and find yourself orange eight hours later. Yikes! Just walk around Umpa Lumpa Style why don't ya. Then of course there is the application...Oy...streaks, streaks and more streaks. Just what we need on top of our already orange skin. Now we're white and orange striped! Yikes!!!

When I was just about to give up I found it. The holy grail of self tanners. The one that would hold a place in my heart forever - Famous Dave's Tanner. This little gem will put a small dent in your wallet at about $22.00 a bottle (I know, I know!) but I can assure you it is worth every penny! Famous Dave's Tanner really is the best on the market. It has even been featured in various magazines such as Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan.


Famous Dave's Tanner bathes your skin in the rich emollients of Aloe Vera, Sesame, and Jojoba, which soften and add healthy moisture.  It is also fragrance-free. Drying time is fast - within five minutes of application - a huge plus for me.  It is also very buildable. When I first tried this I already had pale, fair skin. To be pretty blunt, I matched my white gym socks! (Gross, I know! So depressing!)  The first application will leave with a nice, soft, glow - like you spent the day strolling around Central Park.  Apply another layer and you have a deeper, darker tan. Apply as many layers as you like. It's totally buildable. Unlike other sunless tanners, this is also not stainable so fear not, your clothes will be safe. the lotion is also very moisturizing. It is slightly a bit of a body butter consistency but that's okay because it helps to ensure you really get it in.

For me, the color usually lasts about seven days. It's unlike other sunless tanners where when you shower it starts coming off and you start looking like a leopard.  Not this. Honestly, I usually don't even notice it's worn off until after the fact and realize I'm Casper again. Thus why now I just add it as a part of my weekly pampering routine.

I have never purchased the same self-tanner more than once until this product.  I'm already on my sixth bottle!  If you've been looking for a self-tanner that you will LOVE and want to shout from the roof-tops or a High Priority email to your girlfriends...this IS IT!

A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to try Oikos Greek Yogurt. The gals at Stonyfield were gracious enough to send me some coupons for some free containers of their greek yogurt to try. (Thanks Girls!) Boy, was I glad they did! I had seen this product all over the blogging world and just knew I was missing out. I now know I was.

Now, first let me apologize for lack of pictures to this post. I was so quick to eat them up that I forgot to take pictures for the blog review. Sorry!

This stuff is THICK and RICH and CREAMY!!! It is packed full of nutrients, too!! It is only 90 calories but it has 10g of Protein - 10!! I was able to try the honey, the blueberry and the plain.  I'm not a big fan of honey in my yogurt so this did not taste that well to me.  However, the blueberry was out of this world. LOVED the blueberry.  It has so many blueberries and the blueberry flavor is enormous.  The plain is great too either plain or with cocao powder for a chocolate punch.

Another great thing about Oikos Greek Yogurt is that they offer coupons on their website! You can now get your favorite greek yogurt for cheap! How awesome is that? Pretty awesome for me. I can usually score this pretty decent over at my local Wal-mart. If you can get your hands on some of this fabulously delicious, healthy and protein-packed yogurt, DO IT! You will not be sorry!

I know this has only been my first Greek Yogurt experience but I have to say that so far it is also the best and my number one favorite. LOL!!! But wait, it might have a runner up.....Chobani sent me samples to try two weeks ago and i've been going through the flavors. What's my take?
